Reuse Past Servings with Most Used and Logging History

Re-enter a portion you have logged before using Most Used quick picks and your per-food Logging History.

Written by Carbon Diet Coach

Most Used servings and Logging History let you reuse the portions you have logged before for a food or recipe. Instead of resetting a database food's default amount every time, you can pick one of your own common or recent amount-and-unit combinations.

What are Most Used servings and Logging History?

Both features pull from your personal logging record for a food or recipe. Most Used surfaces the amounts you log most often as quick-pick options, and Logging History shows every past serving so you can restore a specific one. Together they save you from re-entering the same portion you have already logged dozens of times.

How to use a Most Used serving

  1. Open a food or recipe profile.

  2. Choose the serving unit you want to use.

  3. Look below the serving field for your Most used amounts.

  4. Tap an amount to fill the serving field.

  5. Review the calories and macros, then add the food or recipe when you are ready.

Tapping an amount prepares the current entry; it does not add the food immediately. The quick choices appear once you have logged at least two different amounts using the selected unit. If you change units, the choices update to match the new unit's history.

How to open Logging History

  1. Open the food or recipe profile.

  2. Scroll to Logging History and open it.

  3. Use the Date or Used control to change how the history is organized.

Viewing history by date

The Date view shows when you logged the item and the serving amount and unit used each time. Use it when you want to restore a recent portion. Tap a serving in the history to use that amount and unit for the food or recipe you are currently adding.

Viewing your Most Used servings

Switch the sort control to Used to open the Most used servings list. Carbon groups each amount and unit together, ranks the combinations by how often you logged them, and shows a use count. For example, 1 cup and 100 g are treated as separate servings even for the same food. Tap a serving to use it again.

How recipe history works

A recipe shows Most Used amounts from the times you logged it as a single diary item. If you add a recipe as separate ingredients instead, those entries feed the individual ingredients' histories rather than the recipe's single-item history.

Frequently asked questions

Why am I not seeing Most Used amounts or history?

The feature may not appear, or may show limited choices you have not previously logged the selected food or recipe, or you have not logged at least two different amounts with the current unit. The full history may still be available even when the quick-pick pills are not shown. A recipe added only as separate ingredients will not have single-item history.

Does using history change my past diary entries?

No. Logging History is a shortcut for preparing a new entry. It does not change or delete the past diary entries shown in the history.

Why are 1 cup and 100 g listed separately for the same food?

Most Used groups by amount and unit together, so each unit keeps its own ranked history. Switching units on the profile updates the quick choices to match that unit.
