Looking to pull in your smart scale data and are already using Google Health Connect? Great! Carbon will happily pull in your weight (and body fat) values into your weight data automatically!

Enabling integrations

To turn this integration, please visit Settings > Integrations to enable the appropriate integration based on your device. On the next screen, there will be a button that you can tap to "Allow access" if you haven't done so already. The app will prompt you to enable Google Health Connect permissions. If you don't enable them at this time, you can still enable them anytime by revisiting this screen. To manage the integration further, you can also open Apple Health and alter permissions there.

Once you enable syncing, Carbon will start syncing values from today moving forward. It will NOT sync historical values before you enabled the integration.

What if my Google Health Connect values are not syncing?

If you experience any issues with third-party integrations, please first try to disable and re-enable the integration. You can do so by visiting Settings > Integrations and tapping into Google Health Connect. There will be a toggle on the following screen where you can disable and then re-enable the integration there. Once you disable and re-enable, please close the Carbon app completely and re-launch it for it to re-sync. If that didn't work, please disable and re-enable it from the third-party app by following the instructions listed on the same screen.

Carbon will only sync directly with Google Health Connect. This means that if the value is not present in that app, it will not show up in Carbon. We are currently only syncing your weight and body fat values. Carbon will not sync body fat values if there is not an accompanying weight on that day. This is because we have to always have a weight associated with a body fat value to calculate lean body mass. Please verify the value is present in Google Health Connect. If it's not, the integration between your fitness device and Google Health connect is not working correctly. Will you pull in my historical data?

Values are available to be synced 30 days prior to the start of your integration and moving forward. If there are multiple values being pulled in from a third-party app on a given day, then all synced values will be added to your Carbon data.


Do you push data?

Currently, integrations with Google Health Connect only send data to Carbon. As such, no Carbon entered values are being pushed into third-party apps.
