Apple Health is iOS’s built-in hub for storing and managing your health and fitness data.
It allows apps to securely share information like weight, activity, and nutrition — all with your permission — so you can see everything in one place.

What Data is Synced
To view what data is synced view our Third-party integrations article.
How to Enable the Integration
Open Settings > Integrations in Carbon.
Tap Apple Health.
Tap Allow Access when prompted to grant permissions.
If you skip this step, you can enable it later by returning to this screen.
To change permissions later, tap open Apple Health, then tap your profile on the top right, under Privacy tap Apps, tap Carbon, then manage your permissions.
Note: Syncing starts from the day you enable it. You can change the Starting date from within Carbon.
Permissions we request & why
We only request the permissions needed for Carbon to work as described.
Allow Carbon to Read
Weight — Required to import your weight. Also required to pair with body fat so we can calculate lean body mass.
Body Fat — Optional but recommended if you want body fat imported. (Carbon only imports body fat when a weight is logged at the same time.)
Nutrition — Optional. We only read entries written by Carbon to confirm successful syncing and avoid duplicates. We do not import nutrition from other apps.
Allow Carbon to Write
Nutrition — Required if you want Carbon to share your diary (energy, macros, and available micronutrients) with Apple Health so other apps you allow can read it.
Note: Diary entries that have all 0 values for their energy, protein, carbs, fat and nutrients will not be synced.
Where to manage:
Apple Health app → Profile (top right) → Apps → Carbon → toggle Read/Write for the items above.
