"Why does the coach ask if I was compliant or not? Shouldn't it know?"
1. Some people use other trackers.
We recognize that there are a lot of tracking apps out there. We also understand that some people have been using a specific tracking app for a long time and enjoy it. Because of this, we wanted to make it a possibility for people to use Carbon while still using their preferred tracking app if they wish. After all, Carbon is a COACH and it just includes a built-in tracker for convenience.
2. Some people realize at check-in that their data is incomplete.
Let's say that you go to check-in and notice that something looks off with your tracked average for protein. You know that you hit your protein target every day of the week. If Carbon pulled data without asking, a situation like this would mean the entire week would go as non-compliant.
3. Not everybody uses Carbon's definition of compliance.
You need a cut-off somewhere for the compliance range, but we also understand that people might feel cheated because they were 0.1g outside the range on a single macro target. Because of this, we allow members to use their best judgment in terms of being compliant or not.
