Prior to your vacation or holiday

Dreaming of your perfect physique for your upcoming vacation? If so, here are the steps we recommend to put yourself in the best position to enjoy your vacation while not derailing the progress you have made so far. It is not wise to crash diet into a vacation.

Step 1: Set up a weight loss goal with plenty of time to reach your goal without setting up an overly aggressive diet. The length of this diet will depend on how much you are looking to lose.

Step 2: After you reach your goal weight, switch your goal to a reverse diet to help recover your metabolic rate from dieting. At a minimum, we recommend spending half the time you spend on a diet on this goal.

Step 3: Enjoy your vacation! You should have a pretty good metabolic rate and can continue reversing or go to maintenance.

If you’re on a weight loss goal and don’t foresee yourself overeating or not tracking then stay on your goal.

If you’re on a reverse diet, gain weight, or maintain goal, keep your goal the same and enjoy your vacation!

After you return

If you switched your goal to a reverse diet or maintenance for your vacation and still want to lose weight, we recommend creating a new weight loss goal and getting back on track.

You have two options if you kept your goal the same and didn't track or check-in while on vacation.

  1. If your time away since your last check-in is less than 14 days, check-in and the coach will adjust as usual.

  2. If your time away since your last check-in is greater than 14 days, check-in and the coach will start you back up with your current macros since it's been too long for the coach to make appropriate adjustments.

Regardless of the method you choose, the most important thing is to get back on track as soon as you can.
