How to create recipes
There are four places in the app where you can create a recipe.
Tapping the floating menu button in the bottom right corner of the diary tab.
Tapping the three dots by each meal on the diary tab and tapping Create Recipe From Meal.
By tapping the plus icon by each meal on the diary tab and tapping on the three dots in the upper right corner.
From the recipe tab, if you don’t have any recipes created yet.
Once you have the create recipe screen open, complete the following steps:
Create a name for your recipe
Choose a serving amount
Choose a serving description (such as grams, ounces, or a custom one like bowls.)
Add Ingredients by tapping the plus + button and searching by name or scanning the barcode.
Hit the back arrow in the top left corner
Verify and click create
Perhaps you are someone who prefers to store your recipe in one large container and serve out a single portion every day. Here are the steps you would take for this method.
Cook your recipe and get a total cooked weight
Go to the app and create a recipe
Choose a name for your recipe
Add Ingredients by tapping the plus + button and searching by name or scanning the barcode.
Hit the back arrow in the top left corner
Enter the total cooked weight into the serving amount
Choose the correct unit of measurement for serving description
Verify and click create
When you have a portion of your recipe, weigh it out and simply enter that weight into your diary.
Create a recipe from a meal
Have you ever thrown a meal together with no intention of creating a recipe? Then decided that you might want that meal to make a regular appearance in your day-to-day eating?
Carbon's feature, Create Recipe from Meal, will make your life a lot easier when this happens. Instead of re-tracking all ingredients into a recipe, you can now copy the whole meal into a recipe! To use this feature, go to your diary tab, scroll to the meal you want as a recipe, select the 3 gray dots, select "create recipe" from the options. The create a recipe window will pop up, fill in the information, and click create. Now have a new recipe without having to re-track anything!
